HOMESCHOOLERS AT THE TABB LIBRARY |

The Tabb
Library is offering a new program for homeschooled children ages
9 to 11 (grades 3-5). The program will meet from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday,
Nov. 12, Nov. 19, Dec. 3 and Dec. 10 in the Tabb meeting room. This session is
centered around the book "A Brush with Magic" by
William J. Brooke. This adventure story is about a boy in
ancient China and a magical paint brush. Attend all sessions and
receive a free book. For more information, contact the Tabb Youth

FUN AT ONE

Homeschooled
children ages 6-10 are invited to attend the second fall session
of Fun at One. Come along as we explore China
using books, crafts and activities centered on the theme,
China Tales. The program will be held from 1-2 p.m. on
Tuesdays, Nov. 10 through Dec. 8 in the Yorktown Library
meeting room. Please note that Fun At One will not be held on
Tuesday, Nov. 24. Registration is not required. For additional

STORY HOUR REGISTRATION |

Registration
is continuing for the second fall session of Tiny Tales, Toddler
Tales and Preschool Story Time. The session runs from Nov. 2
through Dec. 11. Story hours will not be held on Nov. 11
(Veteran's Day) and during the week of Thanksgiving, Nov. 23-27.
Note the date and time changes for the Yorktown Library story
hours. |

Great
Web Sites for Kids, an online resource containing hundreds
of links to commendable Web sites for children. Sponsored by the
Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the
American Library Association, Great Web Sites
are organized by subject headings such as animals, literature,
math and history. There is also a section with sites of interest
to parents, caregivers and teachers, plus an area devoted to
sites in Spanish. |
PAWS TO READ @ YOUR LIBRARY |

Join us on the
fourth Saturday of each month at 2 p.m. for Paws to Read!
Children ages 6 to 12 are invited to read to a certified pet
therapy dog and their owner. Paws to Read programs have
been shown to help readers gain self confidence and improve
their reading skills. A signed parental permission slip will be
required. Paws to Read will be held on November 28 at the
Yorktown Library. |
