Accelerated Reader:
Accelerated Reader is a reading assessment tool used by many York County
elementary schools. Each school has a different list of titles
that are often available at our library.
The John Newberry Medal:
The Newbery Medal honors the author of the most distinguished
contribution to American literature for children. It is awarded
annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division
of the American Library Association.
The Randolph Caldecott Medal:
The Caldecott Medal honors the artist of the most distinguished American
picture book for children. It is awarded annually by the
Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American
Library Association.
The Virginia Readers' Choice
Program:
Sponsored by the Virginia State Reading Association, this program
encourages young readers to become acquainted with contemporary books
with outstanding literary appeal. |
