Local Redistricting

The United States Constitution, the Constitution of Virginia, and the Code of Virginia require that the Commonwealth and its localities redistrict following the Decennial Census.

Two alternative redistricting plans will be presented to the Board of Supervisors for discussion at its February 1 work session. A public hearing and final adoption are tentatively scheduled for March 15.

Current Districts

If you have comments on the alternative redistricting plans, please send them to planning@yorkcounty.gov

Following the adoption of the new districts, precincts, and polling places, new Voter Information Notices will be mailed to voters who will be affected by the changes. These notices will tell voters what districts they live in as well as where their polling place is located.
