Summer reading returns to the York County Public Library in June! This year's theme is Imagine Your Story, in which we celebrate fairy tales, folk tales, fables, mythology, and more. With that in mind, our librarians have created lists of suggestions of some of our favorite books — both physical and digital — available for you to check out from York County Public Library. We will feature these lists here throughout the month of June.
Today we'll highlight favorites from our book suggestion lists that have their main character or characters go on an adventure or journey. See our favorites below.

Adventure Annie Goes to Kindergarten by author (for ages 0-5)
Summary: Even though there are rules to follow, a little girl who loves adventure has an exciting first day of kindergarten.
Emma's Journey by Claire Frossard (for ages 5-7)
Summary: Emma the little pigeon has always lived happily in New York City's Central Park but after listening to her Uncle Bob talk about Paris and his French ancestors, she determines, after one last look at New York, to somehow see Paris for herself.
Galaxy Jack: Journey to Juno by Ray O'Ryan (for ages 7-8)
Summary: On the planet Nebulon in 2120, Zack joins his school's Explorer's Club and visits Juno, a planet made of crystals, but he is less than thrilled when he is partnered with the class bully.
The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise by Dan Gemeinhart (for ages 8-12)
Summary: Twelve-year-old Coyote and her father rush to Poplin Springs, Washington, in their old school bus to save a memory box buried in a park that will soon be demolished.

Summer Reading Program Details
Registration for the 2020 Summer Reading Program at York County Public Library started June 8. This year, our Summer Reading Program will be exclusively online, using the Beanstack platform. All ages can log minutes spent reading, complete activities and earn badges. To earn prizes, reading minutes and activities must be logged between June 22 and July 31.
