Construction continues on the Wormley Creek Culvert Improvements & Stream Restoration project. This project includes the installation of a 54" culvert to the existing 42" culvert, and rerouting the existing storm drainage pipes in order to decrease flooding in surrounding areas. The project also includes stabilization of the ravine area by stream restoration techniques.

The project is anticipated to be complete around November 2019 (this project is extremely weather dependent.)

Construction in this area involves lane closures, road closure to thru traffic, and occasional rerouting of traffic in the area of Old York-Hampton Highway (between Cannon Road and Wormley Creek Drive.) Please follow signs and marked detour routes during construction duration. Equipment such as trucks, backhoe, and other heavy equipment are expected to be used during the process.

Complete road closure is expected beginning September 2019, and will be closed for at least six weeks or more.

For more information, please contact project manager Anna Drake at (757) 890-3774 or drakea@yorkcounty.gov.
