FREE PRUNING CLINICS

Early spring is the time to prune! Our clinics teach you the healthiest way to prune your much loved plants, promote proper disease resistance and plant growth. These FREE (indoor) clinics are offered at the following dates and locations and will be held on Saturday from 10:00am to Noon.

February 1 – Grafton Ace Hardware, 4914 George Washington Mem. Hwy. Yorktown
February 15 – Taylor’s Do it Center, 475 Wythe Creek Road, Poquoson
February 22 – Ken Matthews Garden Center, 4921 George Washington Mem. Hwy.
February 29 – Peninsula Hardwood Mulch, 715 Lakeside Drive, Yorktown

YORK/POQUOSON MASTER GARDENERS TO OFFER A $1,000 SCHOLARSHIP

York/Poquoson Master Gardeners are proud to offer a $1,000 college scholarship to York County and City of Poquoson residents that are incoming freshmen accepted to a recognized accredited Community College, College or University. The Scholarship is available to any York County or Poquoson public, private or homeschooled graduating senior of 2020. The student’s field of study must be in horticulture, botany or a related field. HEALTHY VIRGINIA LAWNS

Sign up now for our Healthy Virginia Lawns program with visits beginning in March! This program is designed to assist York and Poquoson residents with taking care of their lawn in an economic and environmentally sound manner. For $20, York/Poquoson Master Gardeners will visit your site, measure your yard, take a soil sample, and provide customized feedback.
