Come to New Quarter ParkHello All, I hope everyone has had a great week so far. We have several programs lined up for March! Be sure to mark your calendars. Programs in March:- Friday, March 13: Wash and Talk Led by Park Interpreter, Sara Lewis, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Join Sara as she cleans, sorts, and identifies artifacts dating back to the 1700's found right here in New Quarter Park. You will be fascinated by the many interesting things you will learn from Sara about what these artifacts tell us. FREE
- Friday, March 27: Stories by the Fire with Professional Storyteller Bill Rose portraying Theodore Roosevelt. Stories will be about how "Teddy" helped create the National Parks and of walks with his children in them. From 6:45 pm to 7:15 pm we will have s'mores for the whole family. The storytelling will begin at 7:15 pm and last for 45 to 60 minutes. FREE
- Saturday, March 28: Bird Walk! This is hosted by the Williamsburg Bird Club and will meet at the main parking lot next to the basketball courts at 8 a.m. Participants will be led on a 2-hour stroll through the park in search of viewing and identifying birds! FREE
- Saturday, March 28: Archeology Walk and Talk with Park Interpreter, Sara Lewis, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Join Sara as she takes a stroll down memory lane. Sara will talk about the active archeological site at New Quarter Park, where the foundation for a building from the 1700's has been located. Learn what life was like in this area hundreds of years ago. FREE
Registration is now open for the 3rd Annual Easter Egg Scramble! The scramble will be held on Saturday, April 4. Check-in starts at 12 p.m. with the hunt beginning at 12:45 p.m. Before the hunt, children of all ages can enjoy a variety of games, a visit from the Easter Bunny, and more! Children ages 5-12 will be divided into groups with leaders to guide them as they walk the trails in search of the Easter eggs. Pre-registration for this program is required due to limited space.
