Register Now for Summer Fun Camp and Field Trip Fever; Volunteer Opportunities for Teens

Parents, help make your child’s summer memorable with good times shared with old and new friends alike! York County Parks and Recreation is now taking registrations for its popular Summer Fun Camp and Field Trip Fever programs. There is limited space so we encourage registering soon. Summer Fun Camp: This program is for children currently enrolled in grades 1 through 7 in the 2019-2020 school year. This exciting 5-week camp is held Mondays through Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., June 22 - July 23 at the following locations:
- For youth that have completed grades 1 through 5: Coventry, Grafton Bethel, Tabb, Seaford, and Magruder Elementary schools
- For youth that have completed grades 5 through 7: Tabb and Queens Lake Middle schools
Summer Fun participants are supervised by qualified camp leaders in safe and secure settings. This year’s theme is Around the World
and the campers will learn about different cultures each week leading into the 2020 Summer Olympics. Kids will have a great time during organized recreational games, crafts, and more. Special summer highlights at the elementary school sites include guest speakers, special visitors, and a Carnival Day, which includes games, face painting, and more. Highlights for the middle school programs include roller skating, swimming, and bowling, as well as a host of enjoyable daily activities.
The Summer Fun Camp registration fee is $225 for York County residents and $400 for non-residents. Field Trip Fever
: This program complements the Summer Fun Camp and is open to students currently enrolled in grades 1 through 6 this school year. Field Trip Fever features tremendous field trip fun and is fully supervised by qualified camp leaders throughout the day. Transportation is handled by York County school bus drivers and buses. Hours for both sessions are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Note: Actual field trip times vary depending on the itinerary for that particular day.) The cost for each session below is $110 for York County residents and $135 for non-residents.

- FIELD TRIP II (Monday - Friday, July 27 – July 31): Coventry, Grafton Bethel, and Magruder Elementary schools
Volunteer Opportunities for Teens! Calling all teens ages 14-16! Join us as Leaders in Training (LIT) at our Summer Fun Camp and Field Trip Fever programs this summer. Learn useful job skills, develop your leadership skills, and receive training in first aid, CPR, and more. If you are creative, outgoing and like having fun supervising younger kids, please apply today. This program provides volunteer hours for school or scholarships and you get to have fun at the same time! We are flexible with schedules based on each student’s availability.
There is a $25 application fee and an additional participation fee of $125. Non-County residents pay an additional $25 fee. Your registration fee covers the cost of uniform shirts, a summer social, field trip fees, incentives, and training. Registration is now underway online at www.yorkcounty.gov/parksandrec.
