April 15 Status Update: The Latest from York County

County Administration- County Administrator Neil Morgan's proposed fiscal year 2021 budget was presented to the Board of Supervisors at the March 17 meeting. However, due to the anticipated economic impact from the COVID-19 pandemic, revisions to the budget have been proposed. A summary of revisions is available for review at www.yorkcounty.gov/budget. These changes will be presented to the Board at its April 17 meeting and budget public hearing. The Board's meeting agenda is available at www.yorkcounty.gov/bos.
- The County Administrator was interviewed on the Peninsula Chamber of Commerce's "Peninsula Biz Buzz" program. Mr. Morgan talks about the upcoming Board of Supervisors meeting and budget process, as well as thoughts about how the region will emerge from this crisis. Election Information- The deadline to register to vote in the June 23 primary - or to update your address or other registration information - is Monday, May 18. Absentee voting for the election will begin on May 8. Absentee voting is available for those who are concerned about going to their polling place because of COVID-19, will be out of their precinct on June 23, are unable to go to their polling place because of an illness or disability, and those who otherwise qualify to vote an absentee ballot. The deadline to apply to vote absentee online or by mail or email is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16. The deadline to apply to vote absentee in person is 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 20. In order to accommodate those who wish to vote absentee in person, the Registrar's Office will be open Saturday, June 20, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For details, view the press release.
