Come to New Quarter ParkHello All,
Looking for something fun for youth or the family? We have added several new programs for the month of July. Be sure to print out the attached calendar for all program dates. - Tie Dye Workshop: Friday, July 17 from 10 a.m. to noon. You bring your shirts and we will bring the dye. Under current Phase 3 guidelines, this program will be held at Shelter 1 and social distancing will be required for those not in the same household. The program is FREE but you must register online no later than July 15 (limited space).
- Camp Crafts: Wednesday, July 22 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. This program is $5 and includes all supplies. Children ages 6-12 will received their own set of supplies and crafts to make. Under current Phase 3 guidelines, this program will be held at Shelter 1 and social distancing will be required for those not in the same household. The deadline to register for this program is July 15.
- Kayak Instructional Course for Teenagers: This program is for youth ages 13 to 18. The course will be from 8 a.m. to noon and focus on proper paddling techniques, advanced maneuvers, water reading, and more! The deadline to register for this program is July 15.

Movie In the Park Series Returns! This Friday, July 10, Parks and Recreation's Movie In the Park season begins! The first movie, the 2019 version of Aladdin, will be shown at Charles Brown Park, 1950 Old Williamsburg Rd, Yorktown, VA 23690. In case of inclement weather, please call RainoutLine 890-3501 extension 31 for status of events at Charles Brown Park. Movies at New Quarter Park are scheduled for the 4th Saturday of the month from July to September. First up at New Quarter Park is Dora and the Lost City of Gold on July 25. For the full schedule of and current movie dates and titles, please visit our website at www.yorkcounty.gov/parksandrec. Each movie will start approximately 15 minutes after sunset.
