It's become a community tradition to help kick off a season of cooler weather, changing leaves, and outdoor fun for the whole family. During this special extended farmers market at the beautiful Historic Yorktown Waterfront, shop more than 60 different vendors and artists selling seasonal favorites like gourds, autumn-inspired art, kettle corn, and apple pies. NEW this year - a special pumpkin patch with pumpkins of all sizes for sale. Pre-packed kids carving kits, sponsored by Riverwalk Landing Businesses, will be handed out to the first 100 customers as a way to say "Thank You" for supporting local farmers!
An expert pumpkin carver will do live demonstrations from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Riverwalk Landing Concert Stage and musical entertainment will be provided by DJ Ron Herrick. Make sure to take part in our annual "Guess the Weight of the Giant Pumpkin" contest with amazing prizes donated by Allen's Farm, Sycamore Springs Farm, and Pumpkinville in Toano! And don't miss a special performance from the Fifes and Drums of York Town at 10 a.m.
Carrot Tree will be selling their always popular caramel apples and hot apple cider down in front of the restaurant. Water Street Grille will also have to-go options. For breakfast/brunch, they'll have Biscuits & Gravy Bowls with made-to-order eggs and sausage gravy over their scratch-made biscuits. Later in the day, they will have to-go containers of Butternut Squash Soup with fresh market ingredients as well as Homemade Mexican Street Corn grilled, covered in Parmesan cheese, fresh lime, and seasoning.
This year's hay maze will be set up in front of the Water Street Grille Fountain. Be on the lookout for fun photo cutouts to take pictures as digital souvenirs!
We are taking important precautions to keep our customers and vendors safe amidst COVID-19 concerns, including required spacing between vendors and a setup to avoid congestion in typically high-traffic areas. All vendors and staff are encouraged to wear face coverings when interacting with customers. Hand sanitizer stations will be set up as you enter, as well as signs stating that no one with a fever or symptoms of COVID-19, or known exposure to a COVID-19 case in the prior 14 days, is permitted to shop at the market.
