October 30 - Movie in the Park - 15 minutes after sunset (roughly 6:30 p.m.) - This will be our last movie this year so don’t miss this free opportunity! We will be showing “Monsters University” (G). Synopsis: Ever since he was a kid monster, Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) has dreamed of becoming a Scarer. To make his dream a reality, he enrolls at Monsters University. During his first semester, he meets Sulley (John Goodman), a natural-born Scarer. Sulley and Mike engage in a fierce rivalry that ultimately gets them both kicked out of MU's elite Scare Program. To make things right, Mike and Sulley -- along with a bunch of misfit monsters - will have to learn to work together. October 31 - Colonial Road Runners 5k Fundraiser - A Colonial Road Runners Grand Prix and Hampton Road Super Grand Prix event. All proceeds benefit the Colonial Road Runners Scholarship Fund. The race is held in memory of Michael Mann, Tom Ray and Joe Harney. This is the 26th annual race starting in New Quarter Park. A flat out-and-back course with loop into Queens Lake residential neighborhood. Tranquil, scenic woodland setting along asphalt paved roads near the Colonial Parkway, in York County. November 6 - Stories By the Fire - Join us for a night of s’mores and stories with Professional Storyteller Bully Bill as our 26th President Theodore Roosevelt. Bill will tell stories of Teddy’s time as the President and of his cherished moments with his family in the parks he helped to create. We will have s’mores from 5:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. while supplies last. After which Bill will begin his hour of story time. Spots are limited. Register online at www.yorkcounty.gov/parksandrec. Beginning Monday, November 2 the park will be moving to its winter hours, which are Friday from 10 a.m. to dusk and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to dusk.
