“A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns about Falls” - This free, eight-week program will be held at the Senior Center of York on Tuesdays, from January 12 continuing through March 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. Many older adults experience a fear of falling. People who develop this fear often limit their activities, which can result in physical weakness, making the risk of falling even greater. “A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns about Falls” is a program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. During the eight weekly two-hour sessions, participants learn to view falls as controllable, set goals for increasing activity, make changes to reduce fall risks at home, and exercise to increase strength and balance. Registration begins December 8. To register and for more information, call the Senior Center at 890-3444 by January 6. Masks, temperature checks, and social distancing are required. Space is limited.
