Yorktown Introduces Brand New Winter Markets to Help Kick Off the 2021 Season!
Tired of being cooped up inside? Bundle up and head to Yorktown's winter markets! On select Saturdays in January, February, and March, vendors and artists will line the waterfront selling locally grown, produced, and crafted products. Visitors can enjoy a cup of hot coffee or steaming soup as they shop. Local farms will have eggs, meats, and seasonal produce for sale. Other vendors will provide an array of baked goods; homemade candles and soaps; gourmet chocolates; peanuts and brittle; dog treats; beautiful local art (including jewelry and woodwork), and so much more!
The winter markets will take place January 30, February 13, and March 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a special performance from the Fifes and Drums of York Town at 11 a.m. Select vendors will offer pre-order options to avoid touchpoints. Those businesses will work directly with the customers and their information can be found on the Yorktown Market Days Facebook page, under the event created for each day.
All pandemic safety procedures remain in place to help keep customers and vendors safe, including required spacing between vendors and a setup to avoid congestion in typically high-traffic areas. Market vendors, artists, and staff are required to wear face coverings when interacting with customers who are less than six feet away. Customers are also encouraged to wear face coverings. Hand sanitizer stations will be available and signs will be posted stating that no one with symptoms or known exposure to COVID-19 in the previous 14 days is permitted to shop at the market.
The official weekly season begins on April 10 with the Go Green Market to promote environmental sustainability, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Throughout the 2021 season are several themed markets with longer hours to appeal to niche groups within the community—from pirate enthusiasts to pet lovers!
