Come to New Quarter ParkHello All,
Spring is in the air and the trails are calling your name!! We would love to see you out this spring exploring the great outdoors!
Now that the leprechaun has come and gone, are your children starting to talk about the Easter Bunny? We have just the program for you! Our Annual Easter Egg Scramble for ages 5-12 will be Saturday, April 3, from 10 am to 12 pm. Participants can hop through our trails to collect eggs from the Easter Bunny’s helpers. Participants will receive a goody bag and make crafts. You may check-in from 10 am to 11:30 am to hike the trail. The fee is $5 per child. Make sure to bring your camera to take pictures with the Easter Bunny. The deadline to register is March 26, and space is limited. If you are interested in providing donations for this event, please email parksandrec@yorkcounty.gov.
Movie in the Parks will return to New Quarter Park on Friday, April 9, with “The Croods: A New Age”! The Croods must find a new home. They set off into uncharted waters, and soon enough, they come upon a haven that can provide for their needs. Unfortunately, there is a small problem: another family has already taken residence in the area. Movies begin roughly 15 minutes after sunset. Concessions will be available for purchase at each movie. We encourage you to bring blankets and chairs for the showing. For more information on upcoming movies at New Quarter and our other locations, please visit www.yorkcounty.gov/parksandrec.
Please register online by visiting our website at www.yorkcounty.gov/parksandrec. All our programs are modified to ensure we recreate responsibly and meet current Virginia phased guidelines as well as executive orders. See you at the park, Michael Wilcox Recreation Supervisor I
