Pinwheels on Display, Roads Closed for Run, and Safety Programs for Seniors

Pinwheels Placed at Operations Center in Recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month

Earlier today, staff of York-Poquoson Social Services (YPSS) and members of the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office, 911 and Fire, Life and Safety placed bright blue and silver pinwheels at the entrance of the York County Operations Center in recognition of April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.  Pinwheels are symbols of childhood and represent efforts made by child advocacy groups and organizations to ensure children have every opportunity to grow up in a safe and healthy environment, free from the threat of child abuse. For more information and resources, call YPSS at (757) 890-3787.
