Senior Center Offers Free Online Health Series
HEAL Program


Take control of your health and register now for this free health series to be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 8 through June 29 from 1:30 -3:00 p.m. The award-winning Literacy for Life HEAL Program helps adults increase their knowledge of current health care topics, medical terminology, and standard processes. Participants will learn how to describe symptoms, read and understand medication instructions, use Urgent Care instead of the ER when appropriate, fill out medical forms, ask questions to better understand diagnosis, prescriptions, and make lifestyle changes that improve health. 
 
This series is offered in partnership with Literacy for Life, Alzheimer’s Association of Southeastern Virginia, the Lounge at James City County Parks and Recreation, and York County Parks and Recreation.  Participants will be eligible for weekly prizes and upon completion the chance to win a gift basket.

Register in advance, online at www.yorkcounty.gov/parksandrec, or call the Senior Center of York at 890-3444.  Once you are registered, connection information will be sent to you and instructions to obtain series materials.  A limited number of seats will be available at the Senior Center of York for this virtual series. The deadline to register is June 4.
