Themed Market Days Resume; Fire Prevention Week Returns; Upper Parking Terrace Reopens

Visit Yorktown Announces a Full Schedule of Special Events
Three themed Yorktown Market Days are coming up this month:  Fall Market on October 9, First Responders Market on October 16, and Paws at the River on October 30.  Each market offers something special for everyone and no two markets are the same…except for amazing produce, meats and seafood, artwork, baked goods, and more!  Details are available in this week’s press release.  And while you’re at the waterfront, take a selfie with LOVE.  Visit Yorktown is excited to announce the Virginia Tourism’s life-sized LOVE artwork has become a permanent fixture at Riverwalk Landing between Water Street Grille and the Freight Shed. The photo opportunity, with the York River as a backdrop, is part of a state and local partnership to promote tourism. The location is great for special occasions, maternity shoots, and so much more.  Read all about it in yesterday’s announcement.

Top Level of Riverwalk Landing Parking Terrace Reopens Tomorrow
Following several weeks of maintenance overseen by our Department of Public Works, the upper level of the parking terrace is opening back up tomorrow (10/2) – just in time for the Wine Festival (psst….a few tickets are still available – click here)! Crews repaired the concrete and installed expansion joints and a traffic bearing membrane for a weather-proofed surface. The parking structure is popular with visitors and locals coming to the waterfront for live concerts, Saturday markets, excellent restaurants and specialty shops.  We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while this work was being performed.
