Public Hearing on Redistricting is March 1
The 2020 Census results indicated a disparity in population growth among the County’s five districts. Because of this, the County has proposed a redistricting.  The proposal, available to view on the Board of Supervisors website, affects the least number of people and is in keeping with the government’s guidance of “compact and contiguous.”  The Board of Supervisors is holding a Special Public Hearing on this item at 6 p.m. on March 1 in the Board Room of York Hall, 301 Main Street (pictured). Citizens are invited to attend and provide their input on the redistricting proposal. Once finalized, any affected voters will be mailed a new voter card with the location of their new polling place.

Valentine’s Market a HUGE Success
The weather was gorgeous, the vendors were set up, and when the market closed at 2 p.m., items were sold out and an estimated 2,000 people had shopped the Valentine’s Market!  While we can’t guarantee the same weather for the next market on February 26, we can state with certainty that we will have a variety of great items for you to pick up.  The Yorktown Trolley is running its route during the Winter Markets, beginning at 10 a.m.  Several stops are located at parking areas throughout town, with the Trolley dropping you off at Riverwalk Landing – just a few steps from the Market location. We hope to see you February 26!  Complete details are available on the Visit Yorktown website.
