The Transfer Station Reopens Next Week

During the closure, a significant portion of the structure was replaced with new steel and walls were repaired and reinforced with new rebar and concrete. While an inconvenience, the work was necessary to ensure a safe structure for the Transfer Station operations for many years to come. VDOT Traffic Signal Improvements

Traffic Signal Improvements at Mooretown Road Intersection
Attention Upper County Drivers and Commuters--VDOT has implemented a flashing yellow arrow (FYA) signal at the intersection of Mooretown Road and Sentara Circle in hopes of making left turns safer and more efficient. The new signals will use a solid red- must stop; flashing yellow-indicating turn can be made after yielding to oncoming traffic and pedestrians; solid yellow-light is changing to red; and solid green-driver has right of way for left turns. It is important to note that when the yellow arrow is flashing, drivers must wait until there is a safe window to make their left turn.
