First Responders Market

They are the unsung heroes of our community, and we’re celebrating them at our annual First Responders Market. Spend your morning saluting firefighters, deputies, 911 dispatchers, and other first responders at this family-friendly event featuring emergency vehicles, educational opportunities, and a market with seasonal produce, handmade goods, and more. 

1781 Yorktown Before the Siege

Take a step back in time to see what life was like in the British Camp before the arrival of the American and French forces on September 28, 1781. Yorktown’s Historic Main Street will be transformed with military drills, camp life demonstrations, costumed interpreters, and more!

Join us for an unforgettable evening of inspiration, education, and community as we gather for an exclusive sneak peek screening of acclaimed filmmaker Ken Burns’ highly anticipated documentary, The American Revolution - on the Yorktown Battlefield! This premiere will unveil never before seen excerpts spotlighting the critical events that unfolded during the Siege of Yorktown. Registration is required.

Yorktown Art Stroll

Stop by to canvas the area as dozens of talented artists will display their work in and around the Freight Shed at the 14th Annual Yorktown Art Stroll! Visitors will find a wide range of art for sale including oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings; glassware; photography; jewelry; pottery; fiber art; handmade soap; and woodwork.

During this special, extended farmers market at the beautiful Riverwalk Landing—shop more than 60 different vendors and artists selling seasonal favorites like pumpkins, mums, autumn-inspired art, kettle corn, and caramel apples. Enjoy free, family-oriented activities like face painting, a hay maze, a petting zoo, and pumpkin painting!

Yorktown Victory Market
 
Saturday, Oct. 18

What does one do after winning a war against Britain? Shop at the Victory Market, of course! The red, white, and blue will be on full display as local artists will be selling patriotic handiwork such as glassware and paintings.  If the celebrations have you craving an all-American meal, you can shop our vendors for apples, baked goods, meats, and more! 

Yorktown Day
 
Sunday, Oct. 19

 Victory Monument & Historic Main Street

Join in the festivities to commemorate the Siege of Yorktown in 1781 and the Revolutionary War victory that paved the way for America and her freedom. The day includes a wreath-laying ceremony, a patriotic parade, live music, and tours of historic sites!

Paws at the River
 
Saturday, Oct. 25

This heartwarming event brings awareness to animal rescue organizations and helps place adoptable pets in their “furever” homes. The day features a pet portrait station, trick-or-treating for the kids, and a pet costume contest. 

Yorktoberfest
 
Sunday, Oct. 26
 12 to 5:30 p.m.

 $30-$55 per person

Roll out the barrel and sample more than 40 beers (unlimited tastings), wines, and ciders from Coastal Virginia at this annual event hosted by the York County Chamber of Commerce.

This November, you’ll have a lot to be grateful for with three unique markets and the third annual Yorktown Tea Festival.

York County Vintage Market

Some things never go out of style, and that is certainly true at the York County Vintage Market! Browse for collectibles, antiques, art, accessories, and unique home décor. Live entertainment and food trucks will also be on hand.

Yorktown Tea Festival
 
Friday, Nov. 7 
 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
 Historic Main Street, American Revolution Museum at Yorktown & the Watermen’s Museum
 $25 per person

Immerse yourself in the world of tea as you sample and learn about historic teas and herbal blends, as well as explore the culture and politics of tea on the eve of the American Revolution. The ticket fee grants entry to the event with access to standard amenities and activities. Lunch not included.

Maritime Festival
 
Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 8 & 9
 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Ahoy there! Join us for a Yorktown tradition at the annual Maritime Festival where you can sample some of the best seafood in the area including clam chowder, Virginia blue crabs, and fresh fried fish. Artisans will be selling nautical-inspired jewelry and art, and pirates will invade the area to talk to kids about seafaring life. 

Harvest Festival

Do you need to prep for the Thanksgiving festivities? We’ve got you covered at Riverwalk Landing. Pick up holiday staples like turkey and pumpkin pie, as well as handcrafted items from local jewelers, painters, and artists. Kids of all ages will delight in this autumn extravaganza featuring a petting zoo, balloon art, inflatable axe throwing, and hayrides.
