Celebrate Thanksgiving Early with
Food, Fun, and Fellowship during
Yorktown’s Annual Harvest Festival
November 2, 2018
York County invites the community to the waterfront on Saturday, November 10, for a pre-Thanksgiving cornucopia of fun! During the Yorktown Market Days Harvest Festival, customers can shop for turkeys from Parker Family Farm, pre-order pies and sides from Carrot Tree, purchase Apple Cobblers from Riverwalk Restaurant, and shop for unique holiday pieces from local artists.
The fun takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – offering a day of family activities presented by Riverwalk Landing businesses including a live animal show put on by the Virginia Living Museum, fall crafts and games, and even a pie eating contest! The American Revolution Museum at Yorktown will feature living history demonstrations including a preview of its Thanksgiving program, Foods & Feasts of Colonial Virginia.
Other entertainment includes a special performance by the Fifes & Drums of York Town and live music from Henley Fork.
More than 50 vendors and artists will participate in this special November market. Visitors will find seasonal fruits and vegetables; fresh seafood; beef, pork, and chicken; farm milk and eggs; soups and stews; homemade breads and baked goods; kettle corn and flavored popcorn; gourmet dog treats; handmade pretzels and potato chips; and so much more! Artists will be selling painted gourds, handwoven baskets, paintings, stained glass, wood serveware, leather, and alpaca products.
Free parking for special events is available in several lots throughout Historic Yorktown, including the two-level garage on Water Street. The free Yorktown Trolley runs from 10 a.m. to
5 p.m. daily through November 18. Beginning November 23, the Trolley resumes a holiday schedule of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday only.
Yorktown Market Days is always rain or shine. When inclement weather occurs, the vendors and artists move into the lower level of the parking terrace. The extra activities, however, are subject to cancellation in case of inclement weather, and will not be rescheduled. Visitors are encouraged to follow Visit Yorktown’s social media accounts for all event-related changes and announcements.
