New Quarter Park

Come to New Quarter Park this Weekend

Hello All,

We are now in our winter hours at New Quarter Park through March 31, 2019:

  • Open Fridays, 10 a.m. - Dusk
  • Open Saturdays and Sundays,  8 a.m. - Dusk
  • Closed:  Monday-Thursday

On Friday, November 9,  we will have our monthly FREE “Wash and Talk” program with our park interpreter, Sara Lewis.  You can help Sara clean, sort, and examine the artifacts left behind by the people who lived here centuries ago in what is now New Quarter Park. The wash will be held at 10 a.m. this Friday at the main office. Register by emailing
Registration for our annual “Holiday Make and Take” on December 8 at 10 a.m. is now open. The deadline to register is December 5th (limited space). Register here and click on the “Special Events” option under the “Activity Types” menu. The Holiday Make and Take is a FREE program open to the public. Participants will create holiday wreaths and baskets out of natural materials. We encourage you to bring any pine cones or evergreen boughs you may have lying around the yard.
We would also appreciate donations of baskets, wired and grapevine wreath frames, floral wire, and decorations for the wreaths such as bells and miniatures. Donations can be dropped off until December 6 at New Quarter Park or at the Parks and Recreation main office at 100 County Dr., Yorktown. Please consider helping support park operations and free programs by making concession purchases the park office.

See you at the park,

Michael Wilcox
