You are invited to help celebrate York County’s high school aged youth by nominating a deserving student for the York County 2019 Outstanding Youth Award Scholarships. Sponsored each year by the Board of Supervisors and the Youth Commission, the award scholarship program contains four categories: Community Service, Compassion, Courage, and Overall Achievement. A $1,000 scholarship for post high school education or vocational training will be awarded in each of these four categories. Nominations are due at the Parks and Recreation office (100 County Drive) by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20.
Nominees must be York County residents currently enrolled in grades 9 – 12 in a public, private, or home school. After reviewing nominations, a selection committee will choose the four award recipients – one for each category. Outstanding Youth Award winners, their families, and nominators will be invited to a reception where the winners will be formally recognized. Following the reception, the awards will be presented at the May 21 Board of Supervisors’ meeting.
All nominees will receive a letter and certificate from the Board of Supervisors congratulating the individual on his/her nomination.
