Easter Egg Scramble April 13;
Weekend on Your Wheels begins April 28

     New Quarter Park, located in the upper portion of York County near the Queens Lake neighborhood, begins spring/summer hours on Monday, April 1.  The park will be open from 8 a.m. to dusk daily April through October.
 

  • 2nd annual Easter Egg Scramble – Saturday, April 13, at 4:30 p.m.  Children ages 5-12 are split into groups to collect as many eggs as they can.  Before the event begins, children can meet the Easter Bunny, so bring your cameras! Activities and check-in begin at 4 p.m. Registration is $5 per child and is available now through Friday, April 5. Space is limited. 
  • Weekend on Your Wheels (WOYW) – Pre-ride on Sunday, April 28, at 1 p.m.  Registration is now open for this youth mountain bike race series where kids 3-18 can enjoy the park’s specially designed mountain bike trail for children.  Races are May 5 & 19, June 9 & 23, and July 14 (final race and awards).  Registration for all races begins at 12:45 with the race following at 1:30 p.m.  The youth mountain bike trail has three separate courses:  short course for kids 6 and under riding push or balance bikes; medium course for elementary/intermediate riders, usually ages 11-14; and the long course for high school riders ages 14-18.  Parents must be present and helmets are required.  Registration fee is $25 per child/$20 for each additional child in the same family; $10 per race day.  Participants receive WOYW ribbons and a number plate for their bikes.
