Several York County Parks Moving to
Spring/Summer Hours of Operation

     York County Parks and Recreation announces spring/summer hours at the following parks beginning April 1:      
 

  • Back Creek Park Tennis Courts (3000 Goodwin Neck Road, Yorktown, 23692):  The Tennis office will open for hours shown below from April 1 through October 31:
Monday:         4:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Tues., Wed.:   8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Thursday:      8:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Friday:           8:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.
           *Saturday:     8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.  (*Only May 1 through October 1)
 
  • Chisman Creek Park (1314 Wolf Trap Road, Yorktown, 23692):  Open daily from April 1 through August 31 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.  The park is subject to closure due to inclement weather for safety reasons and to protect the turf.  During inclement weather or wet field conditions, the park gates will remain locked.
 
  • New Quarter Park (1000 Lakeshead Drive, Williamsburg, 23185):  Open daily from April 1 through October 31, 8 a.m. to dusk. Park staff will be on site and public restrooms will be available. For shelter and program reservations, call the New Quarter Park office at (757) 890-5840 to make arrangements in advance.
 
  • Wolf Trap Park (1009 Wolf Trap Road, Yorktown, 23692): Open daily from April 1 through August 31 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.  The park is subject to closure due to inclement weather for safety reasons and to protect the turf.  During inclement weather or wet field conditions, the park gates remain locked.
 
 
  • The McReynolds Athletic Complex (MAC) (412 Sports Way, Yorktown, 23693) switched to seasonal hours on March 1.  Through October 31, the park is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.  The park stays open for the conclusion of scheduled activities, but is subject to closure during periods of inclement weather. 

 
     Please call the Parks and Recreation Office at (757) 890-3500 for any questions regarding these or other park sites operated by York County.  Park closures due to inclement weather can be viewed at www.yorkcounty.gov/parksandrec and clicking on York County Parks and Recreation under “Rainout Line” at the top right of the home page.
