Family Fun Day commemorates
National Crime Victims’ Rights Week

April 1, 2019

Join staff of the York-Poquoson Victim Witness Program to commemorate National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (April 7-13) at a Family Fun Day on Saturday, April 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the York-Poquoson Courthouse, 300 Ballard Street in Yorktown.
The Family Fun Day features free hot dogs, ice cream, and cotton candy, as well as games, prizes and a whole lot of fun.  At the same time, our goal is to raise awareness of the Victim Witness Program and the resources and services it has available to victims/witnesses to crime and their families.
Sadly, according to the most recent Bureau of Justice Statistics’ National Crime Victimization Survey, in 2017 U.S. residents age 12 or older experienced 3.1 million violent victimizations and U.S. households experienced an estimated 13.3 million property crimes.  Together we can help these victims of crime and honor those who advocate on their behalf.
