Along with our regular activities – Birthday Bash, AARP Driver Safety Program, and “War Stories and Pizza” - activities scheduled for April include:

  • AARP Free Tax Service – Ongoing through Saturday, April 13.  Tax preparation will be provided on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Priority is given to seniors age 60 and over who are present at 9 a.m.  Participants should bring all current tax information as well as last year’s tax returns.
  • “How to Safely Use Your Walker or Cane” – Wednesday, April 10, at 11:15.  Join therapists from Pivot Physical Therapy for a hands-on demonstration on how to properly fit your cane or walker and how to safely use them.
  • “When is it Time to Give up the Keys?” – Friday, April 12, at 1 p.m.  As we age, our senses may diminish, making driving unsafe.  When is it time to stop driving?  Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist John Vaughter tells use what signs to look for and shares driver evaluation assessments. This program is sponsored by the York-Poquoson Triad.
  • AARP Driver Safety Program – Monday, April 15 (12:30 to 4:45) and Tuesday, March 12 (12:30 to 4:30).  Call the Senior Center to register or for more information.
