CarFit Event for Senior Citizens
on June 17

Sponsored by Peninsula Seniors and
Law Enforcement Together

June 10, 2019

Peninsula Seniors and Law Enforcement Together (S.A.L.T.) is holding a CarFit safety event on Monday, June 17, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Denbigh Community Center parking lot located at 15198 Warwick Blvd., Newport News.
CarFit is a free community-based educational program designed to help mature drivers assess how well they and their cars "fit" together and what actions they might take to improve that fit.  At the CarFit event, a team of trained professionals will complete a 12-point checklist including position of driver’s seat, driver’s ability to easily reach pedals, and proper adjustment of mirrors.  The 12-point check takes about 20 minutes.  Proper fit in your car can greatly increase the driver's safety and the safety of others.
The CarFit program was created by the American Society on Aging and developed in cooperation with the American Automobile Association, AARP, and the American Occupational Therapy Association.
For more information and to schedule your CarFit appointment, please call (757) 890-3883.

Please note:  This event was previously scheduled for May 13, but moved to June 17.
