Seniors and Law Enforcement Together (S.A.L.T.) Presents the 24th Annual Senior Safety Summit

October 3, 2019
Safely surviving the 21st century is the focus of the 24th annual Senior Safety Summit, Tuesday, October 15, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Northside Christian Church, 1300 George Washington Memorial Highway, Yorktown.  Registration costs $3.00, which includes the continental breakfast and lunch.  Visit www.yorkcounty.gov/parksandrec to register by October 8.
The Senior Safety Summit brings together seniors from across the peninsula for a morning of engaging lectures. Among the topics:  avoid common scams and fraud, legal solutions when dealing with aging and dementia, and Project Lifesaver, the latter of which is designed for at-risk individuals prone to wandering.
The Peninsula S.A.L.T. Council has held summits since 1995 to provide seniors with the latest information about scams and fraud, safety, and other timely topics.
A shred truck will be available from 7:30 to 10:30 for secure disposal of papers containing sensitive information. Shredding is a great way to prevent identity theft.
For more information, call (757) 890-3500 or send an email to parksandrec@yorkcounty.gov.
