By air, water, rail, and highway, York County is well connected. We're located within 45 minutes of three international airports and offer easy access to the Port of Hampton Roads. The world's largest natural harbor, Hampton Roads, is one of the busiest and fastest-growing seaports on the East Coast. Rail service is available from CSX, and a well-developed interstate system is reached through the County's four major interchanges. Two-thirds of the nation's population and three-quarters of our national manufacturing activities are within a 500-mile radius of York County.
Newport News-Williamsburg Airport is only 15 minutes from most sites in the County, while Norfolk International Airport and Richmond International Airport are within 45 minutes.

Norfolk International Airport
Norfolk International Airport (ORF) is just off Interstate 64 readily accessible from the Peninsula serving Coastal Virginia and Outer Banks of North Carolina. Richmond International Airport
Richmond International Airport (RIC) is located along I-64 seven miles southeast of Richmond, the Capital of Virginia, and within 45 minutes of York County and two hours from Washington, DC. Nine air carriers provide service from RIC offering nonstop flights to major domestic destinations and connecting service to points around the globe. More than three million passengers and 87 million pounds of cargo travel through RIC annually.

Virginia has the best natural deep-water harbor on the U.S. East Coast. Fifty-foot-deep unobstructed channels provide easy access and maneuvering room for the largest of today's container ships. Virginia ports are located just 18 miles from the open sea on a year-round, ice-free harbor.

Interstate 64 is the region's main artery. The I-664 Beltway provides convenient access to the Southside portion of the Hampton Roads Region. Other U.S. highways serving the region include U.S. Routes 13, 17, 58, 60, 258, and 460.
U.S. Route 58 is a divided four-lane highway with connections to Interstates 85 and 95 south of Richmond. U.S. Route 17 links the Peninsulas and has a connection with Interstate 95 north of Richmond. U.S. Route 13 connects the region with the Virginia Eastern Shore and Maryland.
