[ARCHIVED] Push Notifications Now Live in Libby

OverDrive's Libby app now offers iOS and Android users push notifications about your loans and holds. Push notifications are "on" by default. Users can choose which notifications they'd like to receive from the Libby menu under "Manage Notifications," including:

  • When a hold becomes available
  • When a hold is lapsing
  • When a loan is about to expire
  • When a loan has expired

You can choose to be notified with a menu badge (in-app menu notification) or push notification. You can also choose not to receive notifications. Notifications are device-specific, so users can set their notification preferences for each device they use Libby on. Users on devices that don't support push notifications or where notifications are disabled, can opt to receive notifications via email or in the Libby menu. To take advantage of this new feature, be sure to install the latest update for Libby from your device's app store.

Surface tablets, Windows 10 computers, and Libby in your browser don't support Libby push notifications. By default, you'll get in-app notifications, which appear in the menu. For more information about setting up and managing notifications, visit Libby Help.
