Current Virginia Building Codes

The 2018 Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (VUSBC) became effective July 1, 2021. All permits issued after July 1, 2022 will be subject to the 2018 VUSBC. Permits that were issued prior to the effective date of the 2018 codes will be inspected under the VUSBC in effect at the time that the permits were issued.
