Study Rooms

Do you need a quiet or private space to study, watch a webinar, or meet with others? The Tabb Library has you covered! There are three study rooms available for the purposes of quiet study and discussion. All three rooms have white boards, tables, and chairs. If you wish to borrow white board markers for use in the rooms, please see the Reference Desk.

  • Group Study Room can comfortably seat up to 10 people and has a door for privacy.
  • Individual Study Rooms 1 and 2 can seat 2-3 people comfortably. Study Room 1 does not have a door; Study Room 2 has a door for privacy.

Reservation Guidelines

The Group Study Room can be reserved for a maximum of 2 hours per day, per patron/group, to ensure fair distribution among library patrons. Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and can be made 30 days in advance. To reserve the room, stop by the Tabb Reference Disk or call 757-890-5120.

Individual Study Rooms 1 and 2 are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are not required.

Cancellation Guidelines

If you make a study room reservation and find that you are going to be late or are unable to make that reservation, please call the Tabb Reference Desk at 757-890-5120 to make arrangements to adjust your reservation or cancel it. Reservations will be automatically canceled if the patron is more than 15 minutes late for the reservation time without contacting the Reference Desk. If a patron fails to show for two reservations in a 30 day period and does not contact the Reference Desk to cancel those reservations, any subsequent reservations the patron has for the next 30 days will be canceled. The patron then will be barred from making any new reservations until after the 30 days.
