Recreation Area Requirements in Planned Developments

On September 16, 2025 the Board of Supervisors amended the County's requirements for recreation and open space area within Section 24.1-361, Planned Development-Residential (PDR), and Section 24.1-361.1, Planned Development-Mixed Use (PDMU), in the Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 24.1, York County Code).

Open Space (Cluster) Subdivision Requirements

Also on September 16, 2025 the Board of Supervisors amended the performance standards for Open Space Developments (Cluster Techniques) within Section 24.1-402 of the Zoning Ordinance.

Landscaping, Buffer, and Greenbelt Regulations

On February 18, 2025 the Board of Supervisors adopted text amendments to the County's landscaping, transitional buffer, and greenbelt regulations within Article II, Division 4 of the Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 24.1, York County Code).
